Despite gusty conditions in the afternoon, our morning trip delivered red-hot redfish action and a solid trout bite to match. Morning Report: Redfish Feeding Heavy
We launched out of Navarre Beach Causeway and targeted shallow grass flats and oyster beds throughout Santa Rosa Sound. The early bite was on fire—redfish were hitting live shrimp and soft plastics with aggression, especially on a moving tide. We landed several upper-slot reds before the wind started to build mid-morning.
Speckled trout also made a good showing. Clients caught a mix of keepers and release-size trout using DOA shrimp under popping corks.
Afternoon Report: Windy But Still Productive
By the afternoon, east winds ramped up to 15–20 knots, making conditions more challenging, but we still put clients on fish. We adjusted our strategy and fished deeper drop-offs and wind-protected areas near Pensacola Beach and Navarre Beach.
Redfish were still active, and we managed to hook into a few more quality fish along with some healthy speckled trout. All fish were safely released to fight another day.
