Morning Session (8 AM–11 AM)
Launching under calm seas from the Navarre Beach Causeway, Captain Bryant led anglers to shallow flats where the redfish were rolling:
- Redfish: 9 bull reds (22–28″) on topwater plugs—catch & release
- Speckled Trout: 5 keeper-sized trout around oyster bars using white paddletails
- Sheepshead Spot: 3 sheepshead around the bridge pilings on fiddler crabs
Techniques: Topwater plugs in 1–3 ft water for tailing reds; live shrimp under popping corks for trout.
Afternoon Slam (1 PM–5 PM)
With the tide flooding, we shifted toward Pensacola Beach bridge pilings:
- Speckled Trout: 8 fish (15–20″) on chartreuse jigheads
- Flounder: 4 flounder (16–18″) on live mud minnows
- Sheepshead: 2 feisty sheepshead on cut crab
Gear & Baits: 7’6″ medium-light spinning rods, 10 lb fluorocarbon; live shrimp, cut bait, soft plastics (3″ paddletails).
