What’s Biting Today?
We started the morning with higher-than-average water, plenty of sunshine, and a light easterly breeze — near perfect conditions to target redfish and black drum. Using live shrimp around oyster beds in Santa Rosa Sound and marshy channels near Pensacola Beach, we caught multiple slot-sized redfish and a few oversized bruisers that gave our anglers a fight to remember!
By late morning, the speckled trout turned on strong. We drifted grass flats near Navarre and Fort Walton Beach, landing several keeper trout using soft plastics on light spinning setups. The trout bite was best during the moving tide window between 9:00 AM and 11:30 AM.

Fishing Outlook & Tips
We expect the redfish and black drum bite to stay strong throughout the week in deeper troughs and around bridge pilings near Navarre Beach Causeway and over toward the Pensacola Pass. The trout bite should fire off again tomorrow morning on topwater just after sunrise — don’t skip the early alarm!
Our kids fishing trips are also producing solid numbers of pinfish, snapper, and even a few small sheepshead — perfect action to keep the young ones hooked on fishing.
