Fishing charter prices in Navarre vary more than most people expect. Like, a lot more. The gap between a 2-hour kids’ trip and an 8-hour full-day inshore charter is pretty significant, and whether you’re booking a private boat or just grabbing a seat on a shared one changes the math entirely.
It’s kind of easy to look at a number on a booking page and think that’s the whole picture. It’s not. What’s included, how many people are coming, how long you’re out on the water, all of that plays into the final cost.
So here’s a clear breakdown of what we charge at Showintail. What every trip includes, and how to figure out which option actually fits your group. If you’re looking for reliable fishing charters in Navarre, FL, this should help you figure out exactly what to expect before you book.
What Drives the Cost of a Fishing Charter?
Trip length is the single biggest factor in what a charter costs. Shorter trips cost less, longer trips cost more. What’s less obvious is how group size, private versus shared structure, and what’s bundled into the price all shape what you end up paying.
Shared charters sell individual seats on a boat with multiple groups. Private charters book the entire vessel for one group. We operate exclusively as a private charter at Showintail, which means your group is the only group on the water from launch to dock. That structure affects the price, but it also changes the entire experience.
What’s included in the price matters more than the base number. Some operators advertise a low rate and add fishing license fees, tackle rental, and a dock cleaning charge at the end. Our pricing doesn’t work that way. Everything on our list is already in the price you see when you book.
Our Full Charter Pricing
We offer 10 different trip types. Here’s what each one costs.
Our 2-hour kids fishing trip starts at $300. It’s our shortest trip and the right call for children under 10. Long enough to catch fish, short enough that no one runs out of patience or gets too much sun.
The 3-hour family fishing trip starts at $450. A solid fit for families with older kids or mixed adult-and-child groups who want more time on the water without committing to a half-day.
Our 4-hour half-day inshore charter starts at $550 for the first person, plus $50 for each additional guest up to four. This is our most popular option for adult groups and families alike.
The 6-hour extended inshore charter starts at $750 for the first person, with $50 per additional guest up to four. It covers more ground and gives us time to fish multiple spots across the Santa Rosa Sound and surrounding water systems.
The 8-hour full-day inshore charter starts at $950 for the first person, with $50 per additional guest up to four. This trip is for anglers who want to push into multiple water systems and spend a full day working the bite.
On the specialty side, fly fishing charters start at $500 and shark fishing charters start at $550. Non-fishing experiences, including dolphin tours, sunset cruises, and Blackwater River cruises, each start at $250. All of these are private as well.
What the Price Includes
Every fishing charter we run includes Penn rods and reels, live bait, Florida fishing licenses for all guests, bottled water on ice, and fish cleaning and bagging at the dock. There are no surprise charges at the end. The number you see when you book is the number you pay.
Guests bring their own sunscreen, hat, sunglasses, light long-sleeve clothing, any snacks or extra drinks they want, personal medications, and closed-toe shoes. That’s the list.
Private vs. Shared: How the Costs Compare
Shared charters look cheaper per seat. A spot on a shared boat might run $100 to $200 per person, or $400 to $800 for a group of four before extra fees get added at the dock.
Our 4-hour private charter for four people runs $750 total, all-inclusive. That’s $550 for the first person and $50 each for three additional guests, with gear, bait, licenses, and fish cleaning already in that number.
The gap between private and shared is usually smaller than it looks once you account for what’s not included on shared boats. And the experience gap is considerably larger.
When to Book
Summer weekends and fall weekends during the flounder run fill up well ahead of time. If your trip falls in those windows, booking a few weeks out is the practical move. Last-minute openings come up, but they’re not reliable for the most popular dates.
Frequently Asked Questions About Fishing Charter Costs in Navarre
Q: Do I need to pay separately for a fishing license?
A: No. Florida fishing licenses are included for every guest on every fishing charter we run. You do not need to purchase one separately.
Q: Are there extra charges at the dock after the trip?
A: No. Fish cleaning and bagging are included at the end of every fishing charter. Penn rods and reels, live bait, and bottled water on ice are also included. The price on the booking page is the final price.
Q: How does pricing work for a group?
A: For the 4-hour, 6-hour, and 8-hour charters, the listed rate covers the first person. Each additional guest is $50, up to four people total. The 2-hour kids’ trip and 3-hour family trip are flat-rate pricing.
Q: What’s the least expensive option available?
A: Dolphin tours, sunset cruises, and Blackwater River cruises each start at $250. For fishing trips, the 2-hour kids’ charter starts at $300.
Q: Is a private charter worth the cost compared to a shared boat?
A: For most groups, yes. When gear, bait, licenses, and fish cleaning are all included, the real cost difference between private and shared is smaller than the per-seat number suggests. Having our captain’s full attention on your group from start to finish is a different experience than any shared boat can offer.
