Welcome to the Navarre Fishing Report for June! We’ve had an excellent month of fishing in Navarre Beach, Florida, with plenty of exciting catches to report. If you’re eager to reel in a variety of fish, read on for the latest updates and tips.

Weather Conditions

June has blessed us with fantastic fishing weather and ideal water temperatures. The hot, sunny days are perfect for fishing, but remember to protect yourself from the sun. Wear sunglasses, a hat, and SPF 50+ sunscreen. Stay hydrated and take breaks in the shade to avoid heat exhaustion.

What’s Biting?

Trout

The trout bite is thriving, with many catches over 20 inches daily. You’ll find plenty of trout activity on the flats and inshore waters this month. It’s a great opportunity to catch the trout of a lifetime!

Best Baits for Trout:

• Live Bait: Pinfish and shrimp around grass and sand mixed areas work wonders. Rig live bait on a popping cork for easy trout catches.
• Artificial Lures: Topwater lures, paddle tails, and jerk baits are highly effective in Santa Rosa Sound and Pensacola Bay.

Redfish

June is prime time for redfish, with the bite improving daily. Redfish are schooling all over Santa Rosa Sound and will continue for the next three months. Now’s the time to schedule a trip and join the action.

Best Baits for Redfish:

• Live Bait: Shrimp, pinfish, and cut ladyfish or mullet for bottom fishing.
• Artificial Baits: Gold spoons and jerk baits are producing excellent results.

Other Species

Thanks to the fantastic weather this June, we’ve been catching a diverse range of species. Here’s a detailed look at what’s biting:

Croakers:
Croakers are abundant this month, often found in shallow waters and estuaries. These fish are great for beginners due to their high numbers and ease of catch. Use small live baits like shrimp or cut bait for the best results.

Black Drum:
Black drum are showing up in good numbers. These fish are often found near structures such as docks and bridges. They respond well to live shrimp, crabs, and cut bait. They put up a great fight, making them a favorite among anglers.

Spanish Mackerel:
