Today’s Fishing Highlights

This morning, anglers focused on the deeper edges of oyster beds and creek channels using 3/8 oz jigheads tipped with soft-plastic paddle tails. Redfish were particularly active, aggressively hitting slow-rolled plastics around deeper structures. Several slot-sized reds between 20–27 inches were landed and safely released.

Speckled trout showed excellent activity around grass edges and channel drop-offs. Anglers had the best success using live shrimp suspended beneath popping corks. A handful of keeper-sized trout averaging 17–20 inches made for consistent action throughout the morning.

Sheepshead and black drum were somewhat quieter today but still provided occasional bites near bridge pilings and docks, with shrimp and fiddler crabs as the top-performing baits.

Insider Tip for Tomorrow’s Trip

Tomorrow’s forecast predicts similarly warm conditions. Captains suggest targeting redfish along deeper oyster beds and trout on grass flats during incoming tides for optimal results.
